Werder Bremen are exploring a possible permanent move for Derrick Arthur Kohn but are unwilling to trigger the €5.125 million buy option agreed with Galatasaray, signaling a calculated approach in the summer transfer market.
The 26-year-old German-born Ghanaian left-back has impressed since joining the Bundesliga outfit on loan during the January transfer window, providing consistency in defence and contributing effectively in attack.
While both Bremen and Kohn are reportedly interested in extending their relationship beyond the current season, the German club has ruled out activating the existing purchase clause due to financial considerations.
Instead, Bremen are set to negotiate a reduced transfer fee with Galatasaray, believed to be in the range of €2.5 to €3 million. The move is viewed as a strategic gamble—relying on the Turkish club’s willingness to lower their asking price, potentially driven by squad reshuffling or financial motives.
