Black Galaxies midfielder Hafiz Ibrahim has expressed optimism ahead of Ghana’s crucial second-leg encounter against Nigeria in Abuja on December 28 in the 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers.
The first leg, held in Accra last Sunday, ended in a goalless draw, leaving everything to play for in the return fixture. The winner of the tie will secure a place in the CHAN tournament, set to be co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.
Speaking about the decisive clash, Ibrahim exuded confidence, stressing that Ghana’s locally-based squad is undaunted by the challenge posed by Nigeria.
“When we go out there and put our best, we know victory will be ours. We are not afraid of anyone. Insha Allah, we are going to qualify for Ghana,” he said.
Black Galaxies head coach Mas-ud Dramani has also assured fans of a positive outcome, declaring that his team is ready to find the back of the net in Nigeria.
Ghana is targeting back-to-back CHAN qualifications, having reached the quarterfinal stage of the 2022 edition. Despite making it to the finals twice in the past, the team is still in search of their first CHAN title.
