West Bromwich Albion striker Brandon Thomas-Asante has shared his excitement about his debut for Ghana during a recent World Cup qualifying match for 2026.
The 25-year-old forward played a pivotal role in Ghana’s exhilarating 4-3 victory over the Central African Republic at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in June. Although he was initially on the bench for Ghana’s previous 2-1 win against Mali in Bamako, Thomas-Asante made a significant impact when he came on as a substitute in the 88th minute against the Central African Republic.
Reflecting on his debut, Thomas-Asante conveyed his enthusiasm and pride, calling it a lifelong dream to represent Ghana. “I’m feeling good and it was a really good summer. It was really exciting to go away with the national team for the very first time. It’s something I’ve wanted to do forever, to represent Ghana, since I was a child,” he shared with the club’s website.
He further elaborated, “To be able to play with different players and get a different outlook on things was refreshing. I really enjoyed being with Ghana in the summer which was really good. I came back from international duty and had a breather, but then got back to work here pretty quickly. I couldn’t stay away for too long; I wanted to come back sooner than what my report date was.”
