Asante Kotoko CEO Nana Yaw Amponsah has stated that Asante Kotoko have won the CAF Champions League in the past and is not something that should be new to the club.
The Porcupine Warriors qualified for the competition after clinching the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League title and are set to face Burkinabe side Rail du Kadiogo in the first preliminary round.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Dentaa, Amponsah affirmed the club’s pedigree in the competition.

“There is nothing new that we are going to do that has not been done before. Talk about leagues, FA cups, and Champions League, they are nothing new, we have won them before.
“What has been lacking at club which we have been trying to have is continuity. It looks as if at the end of every management, the club starts from ground zero,” he said.
Kotoko last won the CAF Champions League in 1983 after initially winning it in 1970.
