Black Stars assistant coach George Boateng says Ghana put up a good performance at the 2022 FIFA World Cup despite being the lowest-ranked team.
The Black Stars were one of three African teams to have suffered elimination from the tournament in the group and the only one to have finished bottom in the group.
However, Boateng believes the team did well performing better than some of the countries including Denmark and Serbia despite finishing last in Group H.
“If you looked at it overall we were the lowest-ranked team going to the World Cup but we did better than Denmark, Serbia, Iran, Coast Rica Saudi Arabia, and Qatar the host. So if you look at it we performed well enough,” he said.
In Group H, the Black Stars won just one out of the three games played, beating South Korea with a 3-2 score. Otto Addo’s side also suffered losses to Portugal and Uruguay with the latter ending their stay in the competition.
