Djibouti have lost two consecutive games in the on-going World Cup qualifier in their quest to earn a slot in the 2026 World Cup.
Playing at the Cairo International Stadium, Riverains de la Mer Rouge needed to win against Guinea Bissau to keep their hopes alive for qualifying for the World Cup. Guinea Bissau midfielder Mauro Rodrigues broke the deadlock in the game on the 39th minute to give the West Africans the lead in the group A fixture which ultimately ended 1-0 in their Favour.
Guineas Bissau dominated the entire game with 52% of possession with 13 attempts and 5 shots on goal with the Djiboutians 15 goal attempts with 5 shots on goal too.
The results of the game leave Djibouti rooted at the bottom of the league with no points whereas Guineas Bissau ascend to second place on the log with 4 points from two games just behind first place spot Egypt.
