Tanzanian champions Young Africans SC (Yanga SC) have confirmed the signing of Ghanaian centre-back Frank Kwabena Assinki on a season-long loan from fellow Premier League side Singida Black Stars.
The 22-year-old defender will spend the entire 2025/26 campaign with the Jangwani giants, who will also cover his full wages during the loan spell.
Assinki’s arrival is seen as a significant boost for Yanga as they prepare for a challenging season that includes defending their domestic crown and competing in the CAF Champions League.
A commanding centre-back known for his aerial prowess, composure, and leadership at the back, Assinki has built a reputation as one of the most reliable young defenders in the Tanzanian league.
The Ghanaian international was part of the Black Satellites squad that won the 2021 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Mauritania and has also featured for Ghana’s U23 national team.
Assinki began his professional journey with Inter Allies FC in Ghana before moving to Denmark with HB Køge, where he later enjoyed loan spells at Roskilde KFUM and UAE side Elite Falcons.
His move to Yanga represents the latest in a series of reinforcements as the club intensifies its preparations for both domestic dominance and a continental push this season.
