Yaw Acheampong, the head coach of Aduana Stars Football Club, has revealed that conceding an early goal played a significant role in their defeat against Samartex FC on Monday afternoon.
In their Round 18 fixture of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season, Aduana Stars hosted Samartex FC at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park. However, their hopes were dampened just 8 minutes into the game when Samartex FC found the back of the net, ultimately leading to a 2-1 victory for the visitors.
Addressing the media after the match, Coach Yaw Acheampong acknowledged that conceding the early goal had a detrimental effect on his team’s performance.
“I think I’m satisfied with the performance, especially in the second half but we conceded very early and it made the game very difficult for us.
Despite the setback, Acheampong expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance, particularly in the second half, and emphasized the need to learn from their mistakes and move forward.
“We made the mistake for them to score earlier so it made the game very difficult for us. But that’s football. We will see what we will do in the next game,” Coach Yaw Acheampong said
With their sights set on their next fixture against Medeama Sporting Club, Aduana Stars will be eager to bounce back and secure a positive result in their quest for success in the Ghana Premier League.
