Ghanaian winger Yaw Yeboah marked his debut for Qingdao Hainiu by scoring in a 3–1 defeat to Yunnan Yukun in the Chinese Super League.
The 28-year-old Black Stars international, who recently joined from Major League Soccer, demonstrated his sharpness and technical ability on the flank, providing a bright spot in an otherwise difficult match for his new side. His goal offered a moment of hope for Qingdao Hainiu, showing why the club signed him as a marquee reinforcement.
Despite Yeboah’s clinical finishing and evident quality, Qingdao Hainiu struggled to contain Yunnan Yukun’s cohesive attacking play, ultimately falling short in the season opener at the Yuxi Plateau Sports Center Stadium.
The goal continues Yeboah’s trend of impactful performances abroad, reflecting his experience and ability to adapt to new leagues. The winger will now aim to build on his personal momentum as Qingdao Hainiu prepares for upcoming fixtures in the Chinese Super League.
Yeboah remains a key figure to watch as he seeks to help his club improve on last season’s struggles while maintaining his form for the national team.
