Nigerian songstress Yemi Eberechi Alade has been confirmed by the organizers of AFCON 2023 to perform in the opening Ceremony of the much-anticipated competition on Saturday 13th January 2024 at the Stade Olympique Alessane Ouattara in Abidjan.
Yemi Alade, 34, partnered with Ivorian popular group Magic System and Egyptian rapper Mohamed Ramadan to record the official song ‘AKWAABA’ for AFCON 2023.
They performed the official anthem for the first time during the draw in October.
The AFRIMA and MTV African Music Awards winner will rock the stage before the opening game between Ivory Coast and Guinea Bissau.
The Highlife, Dancehall, Pop and RNB artist is known for hit tracks like Johnny, Bum Bum, Shekere, How I Feel, Kofi Anan, and Oh My Gosh among others.
