The former President of Ghana, H.E John Agyekum Kufour has stated that one cannot mention the top three clubs in Africa without naming Asante Kotoko.
Kotoko are set to face Burkinabe side Rail du Kadiogo on Monday in the CAF Champions League qualifiers with the aim to make a return to the top.
Ahead of the game, Kufour stated that the spirit of the nation is behind the club.
“The spirit of the nation is behind them so they should go out there and make the nation proud. You cannot mention three or four best clubs in the continent (Africa) without mentioning Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
They should plan as a team and follow the instructions of their coaches. It is not about individuals. In football the most important thing is to score, the whole idea is to score so they should work as a team and get the desired result” He said.
Kotoko are currently in Burkina Faso and are preparing for the encounter.
