Young Apostles host Asante Kotoko in rescheduled League clash

Young Apostles will face Asante Kotoko at the Wenchi Sports Stadium in a rescheduled Ghana Premier League fixture. This match was originally set for February but was postponed following the tragic passing of Kotoko fan Nana Pooley.

Their last meeting six months ago ended in a 1-1 draw, setting the stage for another closely contested encounter.

Young Apostles, currently 10th on the table with 27 points, enter the match with confidence after a 2-1 victory over Accra Lions. Their defensive record at home has been impressive, securing four consecutive clean sheets. However, scoring has been a challenge, with just 14 goals in 21 matches—an average of 0.67 per game.

Asante Kotoko, sitting at the top of the table with 38 points, have been one of the strongest teams this season. They are unbeaten in their last three matches but were held to a 1-1 draw by Samartex in their previous game. While they have been effective in attack, scoring 24 goals in 21 matches, their defense has been a concern, conceding in their last four away games.

With both teams having a nearly identical record in recent meetings, this match is expected to be evenly balanced. Young Apostles will aim to use their home advantage, while Kotoko will be focused on strengthening their title bid.
