Ghanaian young talent Kwadwo Baah opened his goal-scoring account in English League One on Tuesday, propelling Burton Albion to a surprise victory over high-flying Port Vale at Vale Park.
Burton Albion secured their first League One victory of the season, defeating Port Vale 3-2 and thwarting their opponents’ bid to reach the top of the League One table.
Watford loanee Baah, making his first start for Burton, played a crucial role by scoring the decisive goal. His strike put an end to Burton’s quest for three points after eight league games in the campaign.
The scoring began early in the match when Congolese forward Beryly Lubala found the net with a header in the 11th minute. Port Vale responded, with midfielder Ben Garity equalizing five minutes before halftime.
Defender Steve Seddon and Baah, the young Ghanaian forward, scored two goals within a span of ten minutes after halftime, sealing the victory for Burton.
Teenager Ollie Arblaster managed to pull one back for Port Vale before the final whistle.
Baah, a 20-year-old forward, has participated in five matches in the 2023-24 campaign, with this game marking his first goal of the season.
