Abdul Aziz Issah, the promising young talent from Dreams FC, openly acknowledged the formidable challenge that confronted his team in the Sunday clash against Rivers United in the CAF Confederations Cup.

Despite securing a hard-fought victory with a 2-1 scoreline at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi, Issah emphasized that the game was anything but easy, attributing their success to unwavering determination and motivation.

In a post-match interaction with the media, Issah expressed gratitude, recognizing the collective effort that led to the team’s triumph. He underscored the significance of the win, candidly admitting that a loss could have jeopardized their standing in the competition.

“It was a difficult game for us because we had lost in Tunisia to Club Africain in our first game. Coming back home, we were determined to win at all cost. It was a difficult game for us. Rivers United felt they are more experienced than us, but we thank God for the victory,” Issah remarked.

Issah, a young midfielder with a mature outlook, praised the spirit and motivation coursing through the team, identifying their unyielding desire to succeed as the driving force behind the triumph. “We were all motivated and poised to pick the three points at all cost. We knew a defeat against Rivers United could derail our chances in the competition. We thank God and everyone who played a role in this win,” he added, acknowledging the collective effort that propelled Dreams FC to victory.

As Dreams FC relishes this hard-earned triumph, attention now pivots to the imminent challenge against Angolan side Academica do Lobito in their third group game of the Confederations Cup.

Scheduled for the upcoming weekend, Issah remains optimistic about his team’s prospects, fueled by the confidence gained from overcoming the stern test posed by Rivers United.

The young midfielder’s optimism echoes the collective belief within Dreams FC as they continue their journey in the prestigious CAF Confederations Cup.
