Ghanaian forward Zubairu Ibrahim continued his impressive run in the Serbian league, netting his eighth goal of the season to help Partizan Belgrade secure a dramatic 3-3 draw against arch-rivals Red Star Belgrade on Saturday.
The 20-year-old former Ghana youth international has now recorded 11 goal contributions in 21 league appearances, with three assists complementing his goal tally. He has also maintained his scoring streak, having found the net in consecutive matches after scoring against OFK Belgrade last weekend.
Ibrahim opened the scoring in the eighth minute, slotting a right-footed shot into the bottom left corner from close range. However, Red Star responded early in the second half when Senegalese striker Cherif Ndiaye converted a cross from Andrija Maksimovic in the 46th minute.
Ndiaye struck again just five minutes later to put Red Star ahead, but Partizan quickly found an equalizer in the 59th minute through a well-placed header by Stefan Kovac.
Red Star regained the lead in the 62nd minute when Mirko Ivanic found the back of the net. Just when it seemed they were set for victory, Partizan won a penalty deep into stoppage time. Nemanja Nikolic held his nerve and converted in the 95th minute, ensuring a dramatic share of the points in the fiercely contested derby.
