Burkina Faso recorded their first victory of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations against Cape Verde on Thursday thanks to Hassane Boureima Bande’s first half header.
The Burkinabes were defeated by host team Cameroon by 2-1 on opening day of the tournament despite taking the lead and against Cape Verde they took the lead once again and this time they preserved it till full time.
Burkina Faso thus are second on the Group A table with 3 points behind Cameroon, 6 point. But the host team has already booked their Round of 16 ticket following their 100 percent record so far.
Burkina play Ethiopia on January 17th and Cameroon meet Cape Verde to close the group play.
