Ghana’s Black Stars head coach Milovan Rajevac, has attributed his team’s poor performance at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Cameroon to inadequate preparations ahead of Africa’s biggest football tournament.
The 2010 Fifa World Cup quarterfinalist, however, adds that the current Black Stars team does not have a player in the shape Ghana’s all-time leading top scorer Asamoah Gyan to score the needed goals to help the team excel.
Ghana, four-time African Champions, have failed to win any of their two games which has led them in a dicey situation to make it out of the group.
The West African giants will need to beat Comoros in the final group game on Tuesday, January 18 to keep them in the competition.
Speaking during a pre-match conference ahead of the Black Stars ‘do-or die’ game against Comoros on Tuesday, the Serbian tactician said: “We don’t have the same team like 2010. Not enough time for preparations. We don’t have a player like Asamoah Gyan.”
Ghana now has to beat Comoros massively in their last Group C game before they can stand a chance to progress to the next stage of the tournament.
The four-time African Champions, have always qualified from the group stage of the Afcon since 2008.
