Black Stars head coach Chris Houghton has denied widely circulated news on social media about defender Daniel Amartey
The former Leicester City defender is reported to have deleted all his Instagram pictures related to the national team of Ghana.
The action has sparked rumours on social media platforms about a potential tension brewing at the camp of the national team over his lack of game time.
Amartey is yet to feature for the Black Stars at the ongoing AFCON 2023 in Abidjan
Responding to a question, Chris Houghton said, “Amartey is top professional and very good team player. I haven’t spoken to him yet but I expect a competitive team and I will be surprised to see a player being happy for not playing”
“Amartey is one of most experienced players and we count on his experience to help the team. We have not spoken many times and he has not showed any disgruntled posture at our camp. He has always acted professional and remain dedicated to the cause of the national team” Chris continued
Ghana is in search of a very crucial win as they continue preparations towards their last group game against Mozambique.
