AFC Bournemouth striker Antoine Semenyo has blamed Ghana’s Black Stars 2-2 draw against Egypt on individual errors on Thursday night.

Despite the shared points, forward Antoine Semenyo openly acknowledged the team’s shortcomings, stating, “Individual errors failed us, but we played well as a team. We needed the reaction after the first game, and we have done that, so we have to win on Monday.”

Speaking highly of teammate Kudus, Semenyo remarked, “(Kudus) is one of our players; he is the star boy. He gets on the ball, creates stuff, and scores like he did today, so he is a great addition to have. The first game was very slow, lacked intensity, but today we needed the reaction; we needed to be in it to run around and show our presence.”

“We have to make fewer mistakes; I think individual mistakes are what failed us. But what can we do? The performance today was very good, barring the errors. Everyone pressed, we worked, so we go on Monday and win.”

As halftime approached, Kudus seized the moment, capitalizing on a precise pass from Samed Salis. The net rippled as his powerful shot found its mark, sending Ghanaian fans into euphoria. However, Kudus wasn’t finished.

In the second half, the midfielder showcased his versatility, receiving a sublime pass from Denis Odoi and skillfully curling his second goal into the net.

Egypt managed to score through Omar Marmoush in the 69th minute and Mostafa Mohamed in the 74th minute, adding more intensity to the match.

Looking ahead, Ghana will now focus on the crucial game against Mozambique scheduled for Monday, January 22, 2024. The match is set to kick off at 20:00 GMT, and the Ghanaian team is determined to secure a victory.
