Headline: Black Satellites Coach Takes Game-by-Game Approach for 2023 African Games
Desmond Ofei, the head coach of the Black Satellites, has outlined a game-by-game strategy for the team’s campaign in the 2023 African Games.
Ghana will kick off their tournament against Congo at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday afternoon in their Group A opener.
Reflecting on Ghana’s performance at the previous African Games in 2019, where they failed to progress from the group stage, Ofei emphasized the importance of a cautious approach.
“We are taking it one game at a time, starting with Congo. We are fully prepared for the match,” Ofei stated during a press conference on Thursday.
With Group A also featuring The Gambia and Benin, Ofei stressed the need for the team to focus on securing favorable results in each match before contemplating championship aspirations.
Ghana’s history in the African Games football competition includes one gold medal and two bronze medals over the past 65 years.
