The Ghana football community on Thursday, October 5, 2023, elected officials who lead the football association for the next four years.
9 individuals from the Premier League, Division One and Women’s football community have been elected to join the president to form the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association.
With Kurt Okraku getting his re-election with 117 yes votes out of 120, some big names who served on the former Exco lost their bids for re-election.
Medeama Board Member, Dr Tony Aubynn was one of the biggest casualties in the elections that was held in Temale.
Asamoah Gyan’s manager, Samuel Anim Addo’s time on the Exco has also come to an end after he lost his re-election bid.
Gifty Oware received an overwhelming endorsement from the women’s football community as replacement for the retired Madam Habiba Attah.
Former Black Stars coach and captain who is also the current Technical Director of Asante Kotoko, James Kwasi Appiah was also voted in to be part of the Exco after receiving 10 votes.
