League leaders Gold Stars FC will hope for a second successive win when they welcome Hearts of Oak to the Dun’s Park on Sunday March 23, 2025.

Fresh from their crucial 0-1 win at Basake Holy Stars on Wednesday, the Miners will be confident mood as they attempt to extend their lead on top of the table. They’ve registered two wins, one draw and suffered two defeats in their last five league matches. They’ve amassed 40 points in 22 league games, having scored 21 and conceded the joint least goals (12). The Miners come into this fixture as the second best home performers in the league currently and are yet to suffer their first defeat at home this season. Frimpong Manso’s men will be eager to record their ninth home win on Sunday.

A surprising 1-0 loss at Bechem United on Wednesday has seen Hearts of Oak suffer back-to-back defeats in the league for the first time since September 2024. That result halted the momentum gained by five wins and two draws. They are currently occupying the 5th position in the league table with 36 points, having scored 19 and conceded 12.

The Phobians head into this fixture as the second best away performers in the league. Abubakar Ouattara’s men will yearn for all the spoils on Sunday over Gold Stars FC side they’ve never lost away from home in the league since 2021.

It’s a cracker between the second best home side and the second best away performers.

Gold Stars FC have played Hearts of Oak three times at home in the league since 2021/22 season with the Miners losing one and drawing two.

In the 2021/22 season, Gold Stars FC lost 0-1 to Hearts of Oak, drawn 1-1 in the 2022/23 season and repeated same score line in the 2023/24 season.
