Olympique Lyon winger Ernest Nuamah has been recalled to the Black Stars squad for Ghana’s critical doubleheader against Sudan in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
The talented attacker, who missed the previous matches due to injury, has been named by head coach Otto Addo as the national team prepares for these decisive fixtures.
Ghana’s Group F qualification campaign started in September with mixed results, including a narrow 1-0 defeat to Angola in Kumasi and a 1-1 draw against Niger away. Nuamah was sidelined during that period but is now fully fit and ready to contribute to the team’s efforts.
His return is expected to significantly strengthen Ghana’s attacking options, adding depth and skill as they aim to secure maximum points from the two matches against Sudan. Currently sitting third in Group F, the Black Stars are in desperate need of a strong performance to improve their chances of qualifying for the 2025 AFCON, which will take place in Morocco.
With the stakes high, Ghana will rely on players like Ernest Nuamah to deliver impactful performances in the upcoming matches. The games are scheduled for October 10 and October 15, and the Black Stars are focused on climbing the group standings to strengthen their qualification hopes.
