Angola’s head coach, Pedro Goncalves, has praised the vibrant atmosphere created by fans in Kumasi, describing it as a hallmark of African football passion.
Speaking ahead of Angola’s clash with Ghana, Goncalves reflected on his previous experience at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
“One year and a half ago, we felt the atmosphere of Kumasi. The stadium and the crowd were fantastic. I believe Kumasi is the heartbeat of African football,” Goncalves remarked on Wednesday, September 4.
The Black Stars will host Angola on Thursday, September 5, in their opening fixture of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers. As both teams prepare for this crucial Group F encounter, they are eager to start their campaign on a strong note.
