Niger held Ghana to a 1-1 draw in the second game of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers on Monday afternoon in Morocco.
The Black Stars started the game on a slow pace and failed to take the game to the opponents and allowed them to have freedom in the early stages of the match.
Ghana failed to progress with the ball faster into the opposition half and couldn’t threat the goal area and barely worked the Nigeriens goalie.
France based defender Alidu Seidu scored from outside of the box to give Ghana the lead before the end of the opening first 45 minutes of the match.
The Stars couldn’t create anymore chances in the second half of the match and gave the home team the chance to grow in confidence.
Finally, the Nigeriens got the equalizer nine minutes from the full time whistle defender Oumar Sako to make it 1-1 at full time.
Ghana’s next AFCON qualifiers will be tough as they come up against their former coach Kwasi Appiah’s Sudan.
