A 93rd minute goal from Felicio Mendes was all what Angola needed as they defeated the Black Stars 1-0 at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on Thursday, in a 2025 AFCON qualifiers.

It was a game that Ghana barely created any decent chance within the stipulated 90 minutes. Players such as Tariq Lamptey, Jordan Ayew, Antoine Semenyo impressed while others such as Fatawu Issahaku were average.

Sportsworldghana.com brings to you our match ratings.

Ati Zigi 6

He was barely troubled throughout the game. He faced to major balls of which he saved one and one also went past him for the much winner.

Tariq Lamptey 8

Ghana’s best player on the day. Despite the poor nature of the pitch, he was able to hold on to the ball and make good incursions into the Angolan vital area.

Alidu Seidu 5

Offered less as a left back, he relied mostly on his strength. All his crosses went over the bar

Abdul Mumin 6

Made some good clearances but at the same time lost concentration on a host of occasions and gave away simple balls to the opponent.

Mohammed Salisu 6

Did not see much of the ball but was cool and collected anytime he got into action.

Elisha Owusu 5

He failed to drive the team forward as two of the double pivot. All his passes were either to the back or sideways.

Thomas Partey 6.5

Did a good job, he tried to move the ball through the middle. Gave progressive passes but wasn’t successful anytime he wanted to dribble.

Fatawu Issahaku 4

Over elaborated too much and lost countless of balls. He was virtually not a threat.

Antoine Semenyo 8

Had a great game. Often drifted wide to create space for himself and sometimes for Jordan Ayew. He fired a thunderbolt from the edge of the penalty box which was saved by the opposing keeper.

Mohammed Kudus 6

Was able to hold on to the ball and move to the opponent area but hardly created any dangerous chance.

Jordan Ayew 7

Was a delight to watch as he often switched from the central attacking role to the wings. Caused problems for the Angola defenders.

Subs

Majeed Ashimeru 6

Came on in the 78th minute but brought stability in the Ghana midfield with his progressive passes.
