The expanded FIFA Club World Cup will take place in the USA in the summer of 2025 with almost all the clubs to participate confirmed.
From Africa, Al Ahly of Egypt, Wydad Casablanca from Morocco, Esperance Sportive de Tunis from Tunisia and South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns are due to represent the continent.
In some details revealed about the competition, FIFA is set to enrich the clubs especially those outside Europe.
European clubs are super rich and even USD 50 million is a huge sum of money but very little to them.
FIFA is set to reward every participating club with 9 million dollars as a bonus.
For the four African teams, 9 million dollars will be a huge sum of money as they can use it to strengthen their squads.
Regarding bonuses, the African clubs could earn up to USD 15 million and $30 million depending on how far the clubs will go in the tournament.
FIFA’s decision to rebrand the Club World Cup is a good decision that will benefit the cash-strapped African football.
The final of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup tournament is set to take place on 13 July 2025.
