Sports Minister Kofi Adams urges Black Stars to defeat Comoros in final World Cup qualifier
Ghana’s Minister for Youth and Sports, Kofi Adams, has tasked the Black Stars to secure a decisive victory over Comoros in their last 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match.
The highly anticipated fixture is scheduled for October 12, 2025, at the Accra Sports Stadium, where Ghana will host the Islanders in a must-win clash for both sides.
The Black Stars currently lead Group I with 19 points and need just one more win to officially book their ticket to next year’s World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Before facing Comoros, Ghana will travel to Morocco to take on the Central African Republic on October 8 at the Al Abdi Stadium in El Jadida.
Adams reminded the team that Comoros handed Ghana their only defeat in the qualifiers last year, and also beat them in the group stages of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. He stressed that this final game presents the perfect opportunity for revenge.
“Every Ghanaian expects the Black Stars to pay back Comoros by defeating them convincingly in our last qualifier,” the minister said.
Meanwhile, head coach Otto Addo is set to release his squad for the two decisive fixtures in the coming days.
