Sudan’s incredible performance is quite unbelievable looking at the state the country finds itself in. Due to the ongoing war, the Sudan national has been preparing in Saudi Arabia for some time and it seems it is not fazing them.
Sudan successfully triumphed 2-0 on Thursday night over Mauritania in Nouakchott to move two points ahead of Senegal after matchday 3 of the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
South Sudan will host Sudan in Matchday 4 and a win for Sudan will help Kwasi Appiah’s team to remain on top until the next round of matches.
South Sudan is the weakest on paper in Group B as almost all the teams expect to beat them home and away.
Sudan’s head coach Kwasi Appiah in an exclusive interview with Sportsworldghana.com disclosed that they are not taking their opponents lightly.
”Our next game will be on Tuesday away against South Sudan so we are preparing to go into that game with the same winning mentality to ensure we get good results there.” He mentioned.
“This is World Cup qualifiers so you can’t underrate any team but we will do our best to get positive results against South Sudan who drew their last game against Togo.” said Appiah added.
South Sudan surprisingly secured a draw in Lome against Togo so if you underrate them, they can spoil your party.
