Ghanaian midfielder Ibrahim Sulemana made his first appearance for the national team in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier game against Mali in Bamako.
Head coach Otto Addo brought Sulemana on in the 88th minute to replace Salis Abdul Samed at Stade 26 Mars.
Ghana returned to winning form after a mixed start in Group I of the World Cup qualifiers, with one win and one loss in their first two matches. The campaign began with a 1-0 victory over Madagascar in Kumasi but was followed by a 1-0 defeat to Comoros in Moroni.
This evening, Ghana secured a 2-1 victory over Mali, with goals from Ernest Nuamah and Jordan Ayew clinching the win for the away side.
Following the victory, Ghana will face the Central African Republic at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Monday, June 10, 2024.
Sulemana’s debut appearance is a positive sign for the future of the Ghanaian national team, and fans will be eager to see how he performs in future matches.
