Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante Twum, has cautioned the Black Stars to remain grounded as they prepare to resume their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign next month.
Ghana recorded back-to-back victories over Chad and Madagascar in March, results that propelled them to the summit of Group I with 15 points, four matches away from the end of the qualifiers.
With crucial games against Chad and Mali on the horizon, Asante Twum emphasized the need for the team to maintain humility and focus as they continue their push for a fifth World Cup appearance.
“The spirit of the nation is behind the Black Stars, but we must stay humble as we strive to secure the maximum points needed to qualify for the 2026 World Cup,” Asante Twum told Asempa FM.
The four-time African champions will open their September fixtures away to Chad at the Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno on Thursday, September 4, before hosting Mali at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday, September 8.
The Black Stars are expected to assemble in Accra on Monday, September 1, to commence preparations for the doubleheader.
