AFC Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo has commended manager Andoni Iraola for his belief in his ability to play multiple roles on the field. Semenyo shared his thoughts after netting a crucial equalizer in Bournemouth’s 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest, which marked their Premier League season opener at the City Ground.
Nottingham Forest initially took the lead with a goal from Chris Wood just before halftime, but Semenyo stepped up in the 86th minute to bring Bournemouth level, ensuring they walked away with a valuable point.
Reflecting on his performance, the 25-year-old forward emphasized the importance of scoring in the opening match and expressed his gratitude for Iraola’s confidence in his versatility. “It’s important; I felt I could contribute in various ways,” Semenyo noted. “I’m pleased the manager has faith in me to operate across the front three. It’s been a bit of a roller coaster, moving up and down and from side to side, but I’m glad the manager trusts me in that regard.”
Semenyo is now focused on maintaining his form as Bournemouth prepares to host Newcastle United next weekend at the Vitality Stadium.
