AFC Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo has expressed his delight after scoring a crucial equalizer in the opening match of the 2024-25 English Premier League season against Nottingham Forest. The Ghanaian international found the net in the 86th minute, securing a 1-1 draw for Bournemouth at the City Ground on Saturday afternoon.
Nottingham Forest had taken the lead through Chris Wood before halftime, but Semenyo’s late strike ensured that Bournemouth left with a valuable point. Reflecting on his performance, the 25-year-old forward highlighted the importance of getting off to a strong start in the new season.
“It’s important; I felt I could contribute in various ways,” Semenyo remarked after the match. “I’m pleased the manager has faith in me to operate across the front three. It’s been a bit of a roller coaster, moving up and down and from side to side, but I’m glad the manager trusts me in that regard.”
Looking ahead, Semenyo will aim to maintain his form as Bournemouth prepares to host Newcastle United next weekend at the Vitality Stadium.
