Leicester City women team defender Ashleigh Plumptre will now continue her international career with Nigeria.
The 23-year-old was born to a Nigerian father making her eligible to feature for the Super Falcons.
Plumptre, who has been capped 30 times by England at youth level was cleared by FIFA on Tuesday and is eligible for Nigeria’s 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations play-off against Ivory Coast in February.
She previously featured for Notts County as well as LA Galaxy Women in the United States of America.
