Danish Super League side Vejle Boldklub have announced the signing of Ghana attacking midfielder Ebenezer Ofori in the ongoing transfer window.

The midfielder has signed agreement with the club until the end of the current season, becoming the second Ghanaian player to join the club after defender Jerome Opoku.

He joins the side from Swedish top-flight side AIK Stockholm.

A statement on the club’s website read,

Vejle Boldklub has signed a lease agreement with the Ghanaian midfielder Ebenezer Ofori, who has been picked up by the Swedish top club AIK Stockholm. The rental agreement is valid for the entire spring season.
26-year-old Ebenezer Ofori has played more than 100 matches in the best Swedish series, Allsvenskan, 47 matches in the American MLS and has been brought in for an important role in Vejle Boldklub both in the short and, if all goes well, long course.

Marius Adrian Nicolae, sports manager at Vejle Boldklub, is satisfied that the club was able to attract a player with the quality and a player that he believes can become a driving force on the team.

“Ofori is a player who is both physically strong, dominates the midfield and who is good on the ball – all are qualities that are important to us. He is a player who, despite fine addresses, still has great potential, and I believe that Vejle Boldklub can release him. At the same time, we are proud that the player has chosen us. We have presented the club’s project, which is primarily about survival, and Ofori believes in that. At the same time, we have secured a right of first refusal on him. I am pleased when a player weights a key role over finances, and that is also why we have succeeded in this lease. I’m sure Ofori will be a crowd favorite with his always wholehearted effort on the pitch. It has also been important to get the deal closed so we have him from the start of training. I can not stress that enough.

Ebenezer Ofori is, however, satisfied with landing in Vejle so early that he gets a full start with his new teammates, and tells here about his considerations before the choice of Vejle Boldklub.

“I was presented with an ambitious project that fits with my own ambitions. At the same time, I have heard incredibly well about Vejle Boldklub, the setting here and the club’s fans from Alexander Milosevic, who despite his short time in Vejle sold the club well to me. It’s a choice that’s about me showing that I can become a key player here and help the club survive. That’s all I’m aiming for. I’m a player who gives everything every single match and I hope the spectators notice that. Now we have to prepare for the task that awaits in the spring, and I am happy to be here in Vejle, says Ebenezer Ofori”.

The left-footer enforcer has previously featured for New Edubiase United FC, AIK VFB Stuttgart and New York City.
