Confederation of African Football (CAF) have recognize Accra Hearts of Oak SC as a big club on the continent following their plans to introduce the African Super League.
Board Chairman of the Phobians, Togbe Afedzi have received invitation from the football governing body to a meeting in Cameroon ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations tournament final on Sunday.
The Rainbow Club won the 2000 CAF Champions League competition without a defeat and went ahead to win the CAF Super Cup in 2001 respectively.
The 2020-21 Ghana Premier League winners Accra Hearts of Oak SC were also the first club to win the CAF Confederation Cup when they beat rivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC in the final on penalties in Kumasi.
The Phobians boast of three international trophies and has been regarded as one of the best clubs on the continent based on the club’s record in the CAF interclubs competition.
CAF have plans of introducing another club competition for only elite clubs on the continent and has for that matter included Hearts in that category ahead of the meeting.
