Spanish born Ghanaian teenager Nico Williams has signed a fresh deal with La Liga Santander outfit Athletic Bilbao.
The contract of the 19-year-old winger was scheduled to expire this summer but he has now appended his signature to a fresh two-year deal which will see him stay at the club until June 30, 2024.
Nico was a January transfer target of Barcelona as manager Xavi Hernandez wanted his as a replacement for Ousmane Dembele but the French man chose to stay until this coming summer when his contract expires and the move never happened.
The teenager was promoted to the Bilbao senior team last summer and he has played 27 games in all competitions, scoring three goals and providing one assist.
