Legon Cities held Hearts of Oak to a 1-1 drawn game at the El Wak stadium on Saturday afternoon as Cities substitute Osman Amadu scored a 90th minute equalizer.

The Phobians took the lead in the 12th minute thanks to Isaac Mensah’s header on the service of Sulley Muntari’s corner kick.

But according to Legon Cities head coach Maxwell Konadu – who is well versed in games against Hearts of Oak – he knew there was always a weakness at the back line of the champions which they exploited at the death.

“I feed good about the draw. But it all comes from the hard work we put in. I must admit Hearts were very tough here. We came in very strong in the second half but still they were not giving us the chance to break them down.” Konadu said after the game.

“You know we spoke about one thing and from non where that thing happened and we got the equalizer. We knew they will make mistakes the same way they scored from a single mistake we made from the corner kick. And so we knew they will also make same mistakes and it happened.” the former Black Stars assistant head coach added.

The draw leaves Hearts of Oak at the 7th place on 26 points – 14 points adrift league leaders Asante Kotoko.
