Ghanaian forward, AbdulAziz Yakubu, made his first top-flight appearance with Rio Ave in the Portuguese Primeira Liga against FC Vizela on Saturday, August 6.
The forward, who scored 11 goals for the last season to secure promotion to the top flight was named in the starting line-up by manager, Luis Freire, in their first game of the season.
Though his side suffered a 1-0 defeat at home in their opening game, the 23-year-old showed glimpses of his quality against another newly-promoted side.
Aziz is hoping to replicate his performances from last season and help his side stay in the Primeira Liga beyond the 2022/23 campaign.
