Godwin Ablordey, the assistant coach of King Faisal, has commended their goalkeeper, Abdul Jabal Adams, for his outstanding penalty saves that helped the team secure a place in the semi-finals of the FA Cup at the expense of Aduana Stars on Sunday.

In the match, Jabal saved two of Aduana’s penalties while he also scored his own penalty to ensure his team’s victory. Aduana FC had taken the lead through Stephen Anokye Badu’s goal five minutes before half-time, but Abdul Latif’s penalty in the 47th minute levelled the score at 1-1.

Frank Owusu put The Fire Boys ahead in the 75th minute, but King Faisal equalized through Benjamin Bature in the 78th minute.

With the score tied at 2-2 after 90 minutes, the game went into extra time, but it did not produce any more goals. The match was eventually decided by a penalty shootout, which King Faisal won 3-1.

Abdul Latif, Adam Jabal, and David Oppong Afrane scored their penalties for King Faisal, while Aduana FC’s Bright Enchil, Anokye Badu, and Isaac Mintah failed to convert their attempts.

After the game, Ablordey expressed his admiration for the goalkeeper’s performance, saying, “We had confidence in our goalkeeper that he was going to take us through the penalties no matter what. He was our trump card, and if we couldn’t score, we knew he would do the job for us. That’s what happened, and you saw him saving the penalties for us.”
