West Bromwich Albion attacker, Brandon Thomas-Asante, insists the players are “more motivated than ever” to succeed this season and secure a spot in the Sky Bet Championship Play-Offs.

The Baggies revived their top-six hopes earlier this week with crucial back-to-back away victories at Stoke City on Saturday and then Blackpool on Tuesday.

Results elsewhere have been kind to Carlos Corberán’s men, meaning Albion head into Sunday’s showdown at The Hawthorns with fellow Play-Off-chasers Sunderland just one point and one place off the pace.

The situation is likely to change once all of Saturday’s fixtures conclude, but Thomas-Asante isn’t worried about other scores and says his side’s full focus is on making sure they get their own business done.

The Ghanaian striker said: “The last two games have been really encouraging.

“What we want to achieve is certainly there for the taking and we just need to keep doing what we need to do.

“We’re more motivated than ever to keep going.

“We’ve been in much worse positions than the one we’re in now and we’ve come back from them and the fans have been with us all the way through.

“I know there’s been some frustrating times this season, but there’s also been some really good ones too. We want more of the good feelings and we want to take this momentum that we’ve built over the last two games into our final few fixtures.

“We’ve stuck together really well which is a skill we’ve learnt over the course of the season. We’re a lot more resolute than what we were at the start.

“There’s a togetherness within the group which I believe is a key ingredient for success towards the end of campaign, along with a lot of other aspects.

“The more we can stick together as players and as a club as a whole, the better chance we have of achieving what we want to achieve which is to finish in the top six and have a shot at promotion.

“We know results elsewhere have been kind to us recently but all we can do is focus on ourselves and make sure we get the results we need without having to worry about other scorelines.”
