Hearts of Oak board hold ‘crisis’ meeting with players after another defeat to RTU

After Hearts of Oak’s defeat to RTU, the atmosphere at the Accra Sports Stadium was far from pleasant. Board members of the club were spotted on the pitch, engaging in a crucial meeting with the players following their recent dismal performances, according to Kickgh.com.

The ‘Phobians’ relinquished their lead to suffer a painful 1-2 home defeat against the ‘Pride of the North’. Their current decline puts them in a precarious position as they approach the final round of matches.

This loss marks Hearts of Oak’s fourth consecutive defeat in the league, with only one victory in their last five matches.

Currently occupying the 11th position on the league table with 45 points, Hearts of Oak still face the risk of relegation if they lose their final match and Great Olympics, Legon Cities, Accra Lions, Karela United, and Tamale City all secure victories on the last day.

Faced with this alarming situation, the club’s board, led by Vincent Odotei Sowah and Alhaji Akambi, descended to the inner perimeter of the stadium for an emergency meeting with the players. They sought answers regarding the reasons behind the team’s recent poor run of form.

Hearts of Oak will travel to face Berekum Chelsea in their final match of the season, which carries significant importance for their future in the league.
