On Tuesday, June 27, Ghana will go head-to-head against host nation Morocco in the second Group A match of the TotalEnergies U-23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) at Rabat’s Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium.

The Black Meteors are aiming for a spot in the semifinals of the competition as they enter this game. Ghana secured a tense 3-2 victory in their first match against Congo and will secure a place in the knockout stages with a win against Morocco, who came from behind to defeat Guinea 2-1 in their opening game.

Ibrahim Tanko, the head coach of the Ghana team, is expected to make minor adjustments to the lineup that triumphed over Congo on Sunday.

Promising goalkeeper Ibrahim Danlad is likely to retain his position between the posts.

Aaron Essel is anticipated to start at right-back, while Samuel Ashie Quaye returns from suspension and is expected to replace Edmond Arko Mensah at left-back. Terry Yegbe and David Oppong are likely to maintain their roles as center-backs.

In midfield, Dominic Nsobila and Emmanuel Essiam are expected to retain their positions. They will be joined by Abass Samari Salifu, who will replace Sylvester Simba.

Emmanuel Yeboah, who scored two goals in the previous game, is expected to lead the attack, partnering with Abdul Fatawu Issahaku and Ernest Nuamah, ahead of Daniel Afriyie Barnieh.

Here’s how the Meteors could line up:

Goalkeeper: Danlad Ibrahim (c)

Defenders: Samuel Ashie Quaye, Aaron Essel, Terry Yegbe, David Oppong

Midfielders: Emmanuel Essiam, Abass Samari, Dominic Nsobila

Forwards: Ernest Nuamah, Fatawu Issahaku, Emmanuel Yeboah
