Asante Kotoko left-back, Patrick Kwadwo Asmah, has departed the club as his contract has reached its end.

Back in 2020, the Porcupines secured the services of former Ghana U20 star, Patrick Asmah, on a free transfer after he was released by Serie A side, Atalanta Bergamo.

Despite his experience, Asmah faced tough competition from Imoro Ibrahim, who had firmly established himself in the club, which made it challenging for him to maintain his position as the left-back.

Additionally, he had to contend with injuries that hindered his performance and prevented Asante Kotoko from fully utilizing his potential.

Asmah had previously been part of the Ghana squad at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in New Zealand in 2015, which eventually earned him a move to Italy.

According to insider information, it seems unlikely that the player will be offered a contract extension by the club.

Notably, he was part of the squad that clinched the Ghana Premier League title in 2021.
