REVEALED: This is why Mohammed Kudus move to Brighton & Hove Albion has stalled

Reports from Dutch media suggest that a potential transfer deal between Ajax midfielder Kudus Mohammed and Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion has hit a roadblock due to a release clause.

Kudus Mohammed is said to have insisted on the inclusion of a release clause in the deal, a condition that Brighton and Hove Albion have thus far declined to accommodate.

This disagreement over the release clause has led to a delay in discussions over personal terms, making the transfer appear unlikely in the current circumstances.

According to Dutch rumours, the hold-up on Mohammed Kudus to Brighton is a release clause issue.

Previously, Dutch journalist Tim van Duijn revealed that Ajax had granted Kudus a 48-hour window to come to an agreement with Brighton and Hove Albion.

Brighton has already reached a transfer fee agreement of 40 million euros with Ajax for Kudus, with both clubs eagerly awaiting the player’s approval to proceed and finalize the deal.

Notably, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the clubs reached an accord in July, and the ball is now in the player’s court to make a decision.

Despite attracting interest from prominent clubs like Arsenal, Chelsea, and Borussia Dortmund, no formal bids have been presented to Ajax for Kudus Mohammed.

It’s pertinent to mention that the Ghanaian midfielder still has two years remaining on his contract, having penned a five-year deal with Ajax in 2020 after his move from FC Nordsjaelland.
