The Central African Republic’s national football team has arrived in Accra ahead of their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Ghana, scheduled for Saturday.
The Wild Beasts, comprised of both home-based players and the coaching staff under the leadership of head coach Raoul Savoy, touched down at Kotoka International Airport at approximately 3:30 pm.
For their stay in Accra, they have chosen to accommodate themselves at the Oak Plaza Hotel in East Airport, planning to spend a few days in the city before making their way to Kumasi, where the crucial match is set to take place.
The Wild Beasts are slated to face off against the Black Stars at Kumasi’s Baba Yara Stadium on Thursday, September 7, 2023.
Following this weekend’s league matches, the foreign-based players will subsequently join the team in Accra, adding their expertise to the squad.
As it stands, Ghana is leading Group E with 9 points, holding a one-point lead over Angola in second place and a two-point advantage over the Central African Republic in third place.
The Black Stars require just one point in their upcoming match against the Central African Republic to secure qualification for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Cote d’Ivoire.
