Central Africa Republic’s head coach, Raoul Savoy, asserts that his team possesses the necessary capabilities to confront the Black Stars in the final qualifiers for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Ghana is set to host CAR at the Baba Yara Stadium on Thursday, with both teams vying for a spot in the continental showpiece scheduled for January 2024 in Ivory Coast.
The Wild Beasts have a chance to secure qualification to the tournament if they can overcome Ghana at the Baba Yara Stadium on Thursday. Meanwhile, the four-time Afcon champions only need a single point to secure their place in the competition.
Ghana currently leads Group E with 9 points, holding a one-point advantage over second-placed Angola and a two-point lead over third-placed Central African Republic.
“No. We don’t fear Ghana but we have to respect all the players, this country Ghana and of course the Black Stars. It is not a question of fear but a question of respect” he told Ghanasportspage in an interview.
The Central African Republic (CAR) has already arrived in Accra ahead of the crucial encounter with Ghana. The Wild Beasts’ delegation, comprising home-based players and the coaching staff under the leadership of Raoul Savoy, landed at Kotoka International Airport.
They are presently accommodated at the Oak Plaza Hotel in East Airport and will spend a few days in Accra before departing for Kumasi, where the match will be held.
