Turkey-based Center-back Jerome Opoku’s first Black Stars game ended in a humiliating defeat to the United States of America in Nashville.

The defender came in for injured Joseph Aidoo for the clash on Wednesday, October 18 2023 at the GEODIS PARK in Nashville to make his Ghana bow after a late call-up.

He made a mistake that led to the third goal of the match when he failed to control Gideon Mensah’s pass which saw the USA pouncing on his mistake.

The former Fulham FC and FC Arouca man played full throttle for Ghana in a game the Ghanaians had just one shot on target coming from Mohammed Kudus after 42 minutes.

Ghana’s Black Stars were beaten to a pulp by the Young United States of America team in Nashville in an international friendly game.

The Black Stars were put to the sword by the Americans when they got thrashed after another shocking, embarrassing, disgraceful, disgusting and spineless display.

The Americans beat the Ghanaian team without breaking a bone as they swept aside the uninspring Black Stars team with an amazing, eye-catching and scintillating performance.

Germany Bundesliga giant Borussia Dortmund youngster Giovanni Reyna needed just ten minutes of the match to put the hosts 1-0 up after a shambolic defending from Nicholas Opoku.

He lashed home from close range after the France based Center-back failed to clear his lines properly.

The Americans got their second goal through former Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea FC forward Christian Pulisic who converted a spot kick conceded by left-back Gideon Mensah after just nineteen minutes.

Three minutes later, Falorin Balogun got his name on the score sheet after another mistake by two defenders Jerome Opoku who’s making his debut and Gideon Mensah to make it 3-0 halfway through the opening 45 minutes of the match.

Giovanni Reyna got his second goal of the match six minutes away from the break with a cool and brilliant strike from an indirect free-kick to make it 4-0.

Ghana got its first shot on target three minutes to the end of the first 45 minutes of the match when Kudus Mohammed worked the American goalkeeper Matt Turner.

The match ended in a humiliating 4-0 defeat.
