Under the guidance of Nora Hauptle, the Black Queens of Ghana extended their impressive streak, clinching a commanding 3-0 triumph against Benin in the 2024 Olympic Games qualifiers.

The match unfolded at the Stade de l’Amitié – Général Mathieu Kerekou and showcased the strength and prowess of the Ghanaian team as they secured a well-deserved victory in the first leg of the contest.

The initial half of the game witnessed the Black Queens of Ghana taking control, with a solitary goal dividing the two national teams at the halftime whistle. Ghana gained the upper hand thanks to a penalty kick, skillfully converted by the prolific goal-scorer, Doris Boaduwaa.

In the second half, Benin sought to mount a comeback but found themselves lacking the necessary quality to effectively execute their strategy. In contrast, Ghana continued to exhibit their offensive prowess. Gifty Assifuah delivered a stellar performance, finding the back of the net twice in the 73rd and 78th minutes, respectively, further cementing Ghana’s lead and securing a thoroughly earned 3-0 triumph.

After this convincing victory, the Black Queens will return to Ghana and initiate preparations for the upcoming second leg of the tie, scheduled for Tuesday, October 31.

With their recent demonstration of skill and determination, the team is poised to continue their journey in the 2024 Olympic Games qualifiers with great optimism and aspirations.
