Asamoah Gyan finally speaks after marriage annulment with Gifty Gyamesi

Ghanaian football legend Asamoah Gyan expressed his feeling of vindication after a court ruled in his favor in the marriage annulment case involving his ex-wife, Sandra Gifty Gyamesi.

On Tuesday, after a three-year legal battle, an Accra court issued a verdict confirming Asamoah Gyan’s paternity of the three children born to Gifty Gyan. The court also determined that Asamoah Gyan is obliged to provide financial support to Gifty Gyan in the form of a monthly stipend of 25,000 Ghana cedis.

However, it’s important to note that this financial assistance does not cover specific expenses such as school fees, medical and dental care, flight tickets, and various other childcare costs.

In addition to the financial obligations, the court ruled that Asamoah Gyan’s mansion in the United Kingdom must be transferred to Gifty Gyan as part of the settlement. She was also granted ownership of a four-bedroom house in Spintex, Accra.

Furthermore, the court ordered the transfer of two vehicles owned by Asamoah Gyan, a BMW and an Infiniti, to Gifty Gyan.

Additionally, Asamoah Gyan’s land, originally designated for the construction of a filling station, was assigned to Gifty Gyan.

Despite the various rulings, including penalties imposed on Asamoah Gyan, the former Sunderland and Udinese star stated in an interview that he feels vindicated because he believes the court’s decision favored him.

“It has been five years and people have said a lot of things but I didn’t complain because I know that as a public figure, these things happen. Because of my kids, I won’t say anything but now they are trying to twist the ruling to make it seem like I lost the case.

“I spoke to Gifty that because of what is going on, I would come out and defend myself. I spoke to her and told her point blank that I have kept quiet on the issue and allowed all kinds of false narratives about me.

“His people lost the case but they want public sympathy so they made it seem like I’m the bad person. Now that the verdict is out and they want to turn it against me, I will come out and talk. I’m talking today because I have already warned her.

“I have been vindicated because the court has ruled in favor of me and what I wished, they granted it. I know it’s not coming from my ex-wife but rather people around her who know that they’ve lost the case. They want to clear their name,” he said.
